If you’re not good with the details of a movie that was released over fifty years ago, be sure to watch it before watching the sequel.

What if…? is directly related to the Multiverse, but in a different way than DOctor Strange continuation. However, for those who want to get a better idea of the concept, it’s worth a look.
Only the very first episode is mentioned. Multiverse of Madnessbut viewers who haven’t seen the series but are familiar with live-action Marvel Cinematic Universe projects won’t feel left out.
4 Spiderman: No Way Home
Although the events of the movie «Spider» are not spoiled in Doctor Strange continuation, they are referenced by the characters involved. So those who want to know about Doctor Strange and Wong’s previous multiverse adventures should make sure they’ve seen Spiderman: No Way Home before Multiverse of Madness.
5. Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame
These films are kind of a package deal, especially when it comes to Doctor Strange. Multiverse of Madness refers to his role in their events, so they might need to be revisited, or at least just his scenes in them.
By now, people who have seen Multiverse of Madness promotional materials are well aware of the reasons for this inclusion, but anyone unfamiliar with X-Men movies (which are non-MCU canon) can be helpful if you at least watch the very first movie beforehand.
Believe it or not, the Marvel Entertainment series In people plays a role in Multiverse of Madness despite not being part of the MCU proper. It is not large, but those who want to fully appreciate all the elements of the film can watch it.
In people by no means the most famous Marvel project, but luckily fans only need to watch the first episode to get a nod to the series in Doctor Strange continuation.
8 Captain Marvel
Like some of the other listed projects, seeing Captain Marvel before Multiverse of Madness will improve the experience, but is not critical to it.
9. Any Fantastic Four movie
Again, not necessarily for fun, but can enhance it.
Though of course it’s not the key to follow Doctor Strange sequel, those who want to put together the complete mystery of the Multiverse can watch this Disney+ series.
