What will come before Predator? Good, Mining, obviously.
For his next installment – the fifth in the long-running horror franchise – Predator returns to the beginning. And not until the mid-1980s, when the original Predator with Arnold Schwarzenegger. This film is set hundreds of years ago and tells the story of the Predator’s first visit to Earth, where he fights a group of Native American warriors.
You don’t see a clear view of the Predator in the first Mining teaser. But you can certainly hear him and see some of his classic weapons like his camo and red laser sight. You can watch a first look at the film below:
Mining was actually shot dead by director Dan Trachtenberg under the name Skulls. Then, in November 2020, information was leaked – and Trachtenberg confirmed – that the film was indeed a prequel to Predator a set of centuries ahead of other films. (name later changed to Mining.)
