In the world of superheroes, ridiculous costumes are a given. This gave many movie studios a headache adapting these characters to the silver screen, leading to everything from colorful spandex jokes to X-Men Joel Schumacher’s famous bat nipples. As more comic book characters make tons of money, studios are less hesitant to use the medium for what it is. For example, The Dark Knight has seen many adaptations, but the CW Gotham Knights will be the first to add a splash of comic book blue to his traditional black batsuit.

A preview is shown in a behind-the-scenes photo posted to Twitter. The bright blue hood is completely out of the box and should work well with the blue cape or other elements of Bruce Wayne’s supersuit. Surely all vanity Gotham Knights includes a city without Batman, so it’s likely that viewers will only get a glimpse of this costume in action early in the series.

Gotham Knights will unite the descendants of several of Batman’s worst enemies as an anti-crime force operating in a city without its biggest protector. The CW cast Fallon Smythe as Bluebird, Tyler DiChiara as her brother Cullen Rowe, Olivia Rose Keegan as Duela Dent, Navia Robinson as Carrie Kelly, Oscar Morgan as Turner Hayes, Misha Collins as Harvey Dent, and Anna Lore as Stephanie Brown.

Gotham Knights the comic also serves as inspiration for an upcoming video game developed by WB Games Montréal. It will feature the same premise of the city without Batman, but instead starring his usual group of pals approaching the plate. Players can switch between Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl and Red Hood to take on the crime streets. Till Gotham Knights the TV premiere will take place in 2023, the video game is scheduled to premiere on October 25, 2022.
