spy x family this week had a particularly good episode focusing on Anya’s relationship with Yor and her ability to fit into Eden Academy. This episode had a lot of laughs and a few cute moments that further developed the Loid family and their closeness to each other.
The first half of the episode revolves around Anya getting her Eden Academy uniform. What starts out as a fun little family outing turns into a fear-mongering measurement session as the seamstress talks about how often Eden Academy kids are kidnapped and bullied. It’s funny to see Anya flip and no longer want to go to school, as is her immediate paranoia of being kidnapped again.

However, her paranoia is well founded as Anya is quickly kidnapped and Loyd is briefed on the next phase of her mission. Seeing Yor release the kidnappers before anything can happen serves as a great moment for her character, showcasing her incredible fighting skills as well as her growing compassion for Anya. Also, it’s always great to see these characters show how strong they are after hiding their talents for so long.
This first half helps reinforce Yor’s maternal feelings for Anya, as well as Anya’s reciprocal feelings for Yor. The family continues to get closer and closer every week, creating a nice and rewarding dynamic considering it’s a family made up of a spy, an assassin, and a telepath.
After being kidnapped, Yor teaches Anya how to fight in a comedic sequence that confuses Loyd but comes in handy later. Because Loyd found out that he needed to either make Anya an A student or get her to befriend his target’s son, Damian. While Anya tries to be friendly at first, things quickly fall apart in a jovial manner, perfect for Anya’s character.
As Damian resents Anya for being a nobody, she simply smirks at him to piss him off without violence. This is a fantastic sequence, as Anya maintains her cheeky smirk for most of the remainder of the episode. It’s already a funny face, and watching Damian and his bully friends struggle to cope with being looked at like that is a lot of fun.

It also makes Anya’s punch, which she learned from Yor, much more justified and satisfying. The way she stays out of too much trouble shows just how mean Anya can be herself, making it clear that she really does fit into the Forger family. We even get some breathtaking «elegance» claims from Housemaster Henderson that keep making me smile. This other half is full of laughter and goes on to prove that Anya is a brilliant and funny character.
«The Friendship Scheme» is a great episode spy x family, improving on the pace of last week, with more laughs than any other episode. I can’t wait to see Anya trying to befriend Damian now as I’m sure it will be funny and fun to watch.
Like coming sun policy review explains, a score of 9 corresponds to «Excellent». Entertainment that reaches this level is at the top of its class. The gold standard that every creator aspires to.
