Hulu History of the World: Part II is a continuation of the cult classic of the 80s, extending the time from a feature film to an eight-episode smorgasbord of the type of offbeat humor that Mel Brooks is known for. We already know that Nick Kroll, Ike Barinholtz and Wanda Sykes have signed on as writers and co-stars, but any proper sequel to the original must have a fully adorned and star-studded cast. According to Jeff Snyder’s report from AnclairBrooks lines up a range of familiar faces for his historical farce.

In addition to the writing trio, Anclair revealed most of the approved cast. This includes daily show alum Rob Corddry, Seth Rogen and JB Smoove. There is no word yet on who these actors will play, but several other proposals have included details on the characters that will appear in the miniseries. In terms of specific roles, the report states that Adam Sandler was offered the role of Joseph Stalin, Jay Ellis was to dress up as Jesus Christ, and Jack McBrayer was offered the role of Robert E. Lee.
Other actors who are up for unspecified roles and cameos but haven’t been confirmed yet include everything from comedy legends like Steve Martin and Martin Short to director Taika Waititi and sportscaster Pam Oliver. These are all suggestions that may or may not be accepted, so don’t get your hopes up on any particular name.
