First official images of the upcoming Netflix series Sonic Prime were released showing the very first look at the iconic video game character.

The new images don’t show off anything anymore, but they give fans a great glimpse of what Sonic will actually look like in the series, and it seems like the team behind Sonic Prime did a great job of capturing his likeness. In two images, Sonic can be seen holding one of his iconic rings, admiring it as he stands in the Green Hill Zone, the first level of the original game.

Sonic Prime is the executive producer of Man of Action Entertainment, known as the creative team behind Ben 10 and Big Hero 6who will also serve as showrunners. The series will be animated by WildBrain, who will also partner with SEGA to produce, distribute and license the project.
