Netflix has announced the release date for the upcoming reimagining of the classic Jane Austen novel. Belief. The film, starring Dakota Johnson, is set to premiere on July 15.
In addition, photos of the first look at the romantic drama were also released, showing the lead actors, led by Johnson as Ann Elliot, Henry Golding as Mr. Elliot, and Cosmo Jarvis as Frederick Wentworth.

Netflix Belief described as a modern and witty take on the beloved Jane Austen story while remaining true to the source material. The film adaptation will center around a nonconforming woman with modern sensibilities named Ann Elliot, “who lives with her snobbish family on the brink of bankruptcy. When Frederick Wentworth – the dashing one she once chased away – bursts into her life again, Anne must choose between putting the past behind her or listening to her heart when it comes to a second chance.
The 1817 novel has already been filmed several times. It was first adapted into a BBC miniseries starring Daphne Slater and Paul Daneman, followed by a 1917 ITV miniseries and a 1995 television version of the film starring Ciarán Hinds.

Belief Directed by Carrie Cracknell from a screenplay co-adapted by Ron Bass and Alice Victoria Winslow.
