Speaking with Empire In a recent interview, Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige was asked about Kamala’s abilities. For those who don’t know, the comic book version of Ms. Marvel is known for being able to stretch various parts of her body and enlarge them to extremely large sizes. However, the Disney+ series seems to have given Khan a different set of abilities, mostly centered around the purple haze. According to Feiga, this is simply an ongoing work by Marvel Studios and is not an «accurate translation» of the comics.
“We’re adapting comics; it’s not an accurate translation,» Feige said. “[Kamala] happened at a very specific time within the comic book continuity. She is now entering a very specific time in the MCU continuity. And those two things didn’t match.»
The new origin of what Khan’s powers look like seems to be part of the show’s journey. “What we learn about where these powers come from and how they arise is relevant to the MCU,” Feige teases. “You will see great comic cutscenes in some of our action scenes. If you want big, giant hands and arms, well, they’re here in spirit, if not in stretchy, plastic forms.»

Am I exposed to gamma rays? No, it looks like none of that. It refers to her own past, her heritage and background.»
