Lady Gaga took to social media to announce that her next song, single, in conjunction with the upcoming film Top Shooter: Maverickwill be released May 3, 2022.

In a tweet showing the cover of the single titled «Hold My Hand», Gaga said that when she was writing the upcoming song for the film, she didn’t realize that the song’s layers would cover «all the layers of the film». heart, my own psyche, and the nature of the world in which we live.»

Gaga went on to say that she had been working on the song for «many years» and that she «wanted to turn the music into a song where we share our deep need to be understood and try to understand each other – the longing to be there when we feel so far away, and an opportunity to glorify the heroes of life.»
She also thanked Tom Cruise, Hans Zimmer (who did the music for Top Shooter: Maverick) and director Joseph Kosinski for the opportunity, and said she considered the song «a love letter to the world.»

Top Shooter: Maverick The action takes place in the world of unmanned aerial vehicles and fifth generation fighter jets and explores the end of an era of dogfighting. Maverick is now a flight instructor who takes Bradley Bradshaw, the son of Maverick’s late partner Nick «Gus» Bradshaw, under his wing.
Miles Teller, Jon Hamm, Val Kilmer, Jennifer Connelly, Glen Powell, Monica Barbaro, Danny Ramirez, Manny Jacinto, Jay Ellis, Bashir Salahuddin, Jean Louise Kelly, Charles Parnell, Ed Harris and others joined Cruise.
