Earlier this year it was reported that Spiderman: No Way Home Director Jon Watts was attached to direct the unnamed star Wars series for Disney+. Now, in recent Vanity Fair article highlighting Lucasfilm’s upcoming television plan, first official details of Watts’ secret star Wars the series were revealed, confirming the blockbuster creator’s role as creator and executive producer. The news comes almost a month after Watts announced his departure from the long-awaited Marvel Studios. Fantastic Four movie.

The issue also reveals that Watts is developing a coming-of-age adventure series inspired by the «classic Amblin movies» of the 80s. An unnamed project currently has a temporary title Grammar Rodeo, which is an allusion to The Simpsons episode in which Bart runs away for a week in a stolen car.
Set during events after Return of the JediThe upcoming Disney+ series has reportedly started sending out casting announcements to four kids aged 11 to 12. Watts was joined by writer Chris Ford, who had previously worked with Watts on Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Following the huge theatrical success of Tom Holland’s third film Spiderman Watts is currently filming another high-profile film in the form of an untitled thriller starring Oscar winners George Clooney and Brad Pitt. He is also going to produce the sixth part Final destination for HBO Max.
