Gotham Knights was originally announced for a number of systems, but it will not be extended to all of them. Warner Bros. confirmed in a new trailer that the RPG will only release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, and not on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One when it releases on October 25th.
Warner Bros. was pretty blunt about this, stating that these ports were cut to «provide players with the best possible gaming experience.» No further details were provided.

Taiwan Video Game Rating Board hinted that this is the case as it only lists the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions. None of the play store listings or social channels featured platforms at all, further supporting the idea that it might be skipping the previous (and aging) generation.
This isn’t the first time a Warner Bros. abandons the previous batch of systems. 2015s Mortal Kombat X originally planned to be released on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in addition to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. However, the publisher threw out those old versions in The Pitas the team «couldn’t bring the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions up to the quality expected of Mortal Kombat a game.»

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is also a current generation exclusive. Warner Bros. did not announce platforms for amazing womanbut given these trends and the lack of even the most vague release window, it’s also unlikely to hit PS4 and Xbox One, meaning DC fans with PS4 or Xbox One will soon have to upgrade to play the next list of comic book titles.
