Filming on Ant-Man 3 Was ‘Nerve-Racking’

Michelle Pfeiffer appeared as a guest on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, and inevitably the conversation began with her latest work. Having just completed his role in 2023 Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Maniashe was more than happy to share the details of her involvement with the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Pfeiffer is happy to be in the public eye with a major franchise at the end of her career, but working on Marvel films is getting on her nerves.

«It’s a little hard because I dated Peyton [Reed], and I knew a bit about the character, but there was no script,” says Pfeiffer. «You have to commit without actually reading anything.»

Michelle admitted she broke her own rule by accepting the role of Janet Van Dyne/Wasp in Ant-Man and the Wasp without reading the script and that it’s still hard for her to improvise on set.

“You don’t really know what you’re getting into and then you get the script right before you start filming and then it changes every day. And then you make a movie, wrap it up, and then everything changes again.”

Marvel has been known to change films extensively in post-production to fit other MCU events, and they even sometimes mislead sharp-eyed viewers with misleading trailers. This can be confusing to even the biggest stans, so it’s easy to imagine how confusing this is for an actress who didn’t grow up devouring material.
