Elvis Clip Highlights the King of Rock’s Stage Presence

Warner Bros Pictures released Elvis clip of the upcoming biopic musical drama starring Austin Butler as the king of rock and roll. The film is currently set to hit theaters on June 24, 2022.

The video you can watch below teases Elvis’ first performance at the Hayride, where he instantly attracts women in the audience with his charisma and magnetic stage presence. Tom Hanks’ Colonel Tom Parker also immediately sees his potential impact on the world.

«The film explores the life and music of Elvis Presley through the lens of his complicated relationship with his enigmatic manager, Colonel Tom Parker,» the synopsis reads. “The story delves into the complex dynamics between Presley and Parker spanning over 20 years, from Presley’s rise to fame to his unparalleled fame, against the backdrop of a changing cultural landscape and loss of innocence in America. Central to this journey is one of the most significant and influential people in Elvis’ life, Priscilla Presley.»

Elvis lead by Austin Butler as the titular King of Rock, Tom Hanks as Presley’s manager, Colonel Tom Parker, and Olivia DeJong as Presley’s wife Priscilla. They are joined by Helen Thomson as Elvis’ mother, Gladys; Richard Roxburgh as Elvis’ father, Vernon; Luke Bracey as Jerry Schilling; Natasha Bassett as Dixie Locke; David Wenham as Hank Snow Calvin Harrison Jr. as BB King; Xavier Samuel as Scotty Moore and Oscar nominee Cody Smith-McPhee as Jimmie Rogers Snow.

Additional cast includes Dacra Montgomery as TV director Steve Binder; Leon Ford as Tom Diskin, Kate Mulvaney as Marion Keisker; Gareth Davis as Bones Howe; Charles Grounds as Billy Smith; Josh McConville as Sam Phillips; and Adam Dunn as Bill Black. The movie’s iconic musical acts included singer-songwriter Yola as Sister Rosetta Tharp, model Elton Mason as Little Richard, Gary Clark Jr. as Arthur Crudup, and artist Shonka Doukouré as Willie May «Big Mama» Thornton.
