Marvel Studios continues to lead the box office of everyone else.

According to a recent report from DiversityDisney and Marvel recently released Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness earned $36 million from Thursday previews, ahead of what they predicted could be an incredible $175 million debut over the weekend. It is currently the eighth-highest preview result of all time, behind Avengers: Infinity Warwhich earned $39 million in 2018.
In addition to the stellar launch of the highly anticipated film, Doctor StrangeThe box office also shows just how strong Marvel Studios is among fans. The sequel, previously released overseas, has already earned $85.7 million in over 40 overseas markets, including France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and Korea. Early projections for the international scene also suggest the film will make somewhere in the $125-140 million range over the weekend.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness sees the return of Benedict Cumberbatch as Dr. Stephen Strange. This time around, the Sorcerer Supreme will join Wanda Maximoff Elizabeth Olsen, who finally transformed into the Scarlet Witch during WandaVision the final.
The additional cast includes MCU alumni Chiwetel Ejiofor, Benedict Wong, and Rachel McAdams, who reprise their roles as Karl Mordo, Wong, and Dr. Christine Palmer, respectively. It will also feature the debut of America’s Marvel hero Chavez, played by newcomer Xochitl Gomez (babysitter club).
