The following post contains SPOILERS about things not in Doctor Strange: The Multiverse of Madness. Wait, can you ruin something that wasn’t there? I don’t know anymore…
Whenever asked, Ryan Reynolds has always insisted that Deadpool is not in the game. Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness. A few months ago he was directly asked about this, and he said that «really No to the movies.» Of course, Andrew Garfield said over and over again that he wasn’t home. But, as it turned out, Reynolds was telling the truth; Deadpool does not appear in Multiverse of madness. We were talking about it. I think we talked about everything in this movie. So, [it] it would be crazy not to bring this up, but ultimately it didn’t feel like… It just didn’t feel right. But yes, of course, we talked about it.
Most of the unexpected cameos in the film came in episodes involving the Illuminati, a group of heroes protecting Earth-838. These guys are all strong hitters like Professor X, Reed Richards, Black Bolt and Captain Marvel. Deadpool wouldn’t make sense to be a member of this group. (If they had killed Doctor Strange in their world, imagine what they would have done to Deadpool.) The presence of Professor Xavier Patrick Stewart was a far more logical and effective way to tease the future of the X-Men films anyway.
