In accordance with Hollywood Reporter, Oscar-winning duo Ben Affleck and Matt Damon have found their next collaboration in the form of an all-new biopic about the life of longtime Nike chief executive Sonia Vaccaro. Affleck has signed on to direct an untitled sports marketing drama adapted from a script he co-writes with Damon.
The first collaboration between Affleck and Damon was the film in 1997. It will be a good hunt., which earned them their first Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. They reunited last year in a Ridley Scott film. Last duelin which they also wrote and starred in the script.

The unnamed project will be led by Affleck and Damon as they fill the respective roles of Nike co-founder Phil Knight and Vaccarro. The story will center around the popular sneaker shoe company’s groundbreaking deal with rising NBA star Michael Jordan, which helped the brand achieve global status today.
It will chronicle Vaccarro’s relentless drive to sign Jordan, including meetings with the basketball icon’s parents, former coaches, advisers and friends. «Jordan will be a mythical figure, hovering over the film and never seen, even as Vaccarro attempts to contact him by gaining access to those near and around him.»
The Nike executive’s story was first revealed in the 2015 ESPN 30 for 30 documentary titled The only man, which will also be used as the basis for the film. The documentary in question was co-directed by John Weinbach, who played an integral role in acquiring the rights to Vaccaro’s life.

The project will be produced by Affleck and Damon, along with Peter Guber of Mandalay Pictures and Jason Michael Berman. Guber and Weinbach previously worked together as producers of the acclaimed documentary series on Michael Jordan. Last dance. It is produced by Amazon Studios and Skydance Sports.
