Bam Margera Drops ‘Jackass Forever’ Lawsuit

Skateboarder Bam Margera’s lawyers drop lawsuit between former Freaks star and Paramount Pictures. The lawsuit, which was filed in August 2021, also involved Johnny Knoxville, Jeff Tremaine and Spike Jonze following Margera’s firing from the film. Freaks forever.

In accordance with Wrapper, Margera’s attorney Dennis S. Ellis filed a request in Los Angeles Superior Court to dismiss the lawsuit with prejudice—in other words, it could not be filed again. Whether an agreement was reached between Margera and Paramount is unknown.

Margera claimed that Jonze and Knoxville forced him to sign an agreement where he would be subjected to several drug and alcohol tests before filming. Freaks forever. He was fired from the project in April 2020 after failing drug tests during filming. However, Margera claimed that the drug he was taking was Adderall, which is used to treat attention deficit disorder (ADD). He said that Paramount did not give him the opportunity to fully explain the situation, which led to the termination of his filming contract.

On behalf of the defendants, the lawyer stated that although Margera honored his health contract during the first months of filming, he eventually «cut contact» with his treatment team and began using illicit drugs again.

He was briefly seen performing a stunt with several other actors, as well as in archival footage during the film’s credits. His name is listed among the 49 performers during this credit sequence.
