One of the biggest pre-release rumors Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was that Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool would appear in the film. Although this did not happen, the film’s screenwriter noted that the team that made the film had thought of it.

talking to ComicBook.comscreenwriter Michael Waldron, who was Loki’s head writer and also wrote the screenplay for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness – Said that the team behind the film discussed the potential appearance of Deadpool in the film somewhere, but in the end nothing came of it.
“Yes, we talked about it,” Waldron said. “I think we talked about everything in this film. So, [it] it would be crazy not to bring this up, but ultimately it didn’t feel like… it just didn’t feel like the right place. But yes, of course, we talked about it.”
Reynolds’ Deadpool wasn’t the only character under discussion, as Waldron also revealed that the team was considering bringing in Tom Cruise to play the Tony Stark multiverse. However, when it comes to Deadpool, fans should expect to see him at some point in the future. Deadpool 3 currently being written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick from a previous draft Bob’s Burgers duet of Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Leglin.
